In March last year, Dr. John Liu moved his practice of 30 years from Hayward to this Castro Valley office. It is conveniently located between Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) and Dino's restaurant on Castro Valley Blvd., near Redwood Rd.

Dr. John Liu, O.D.

Dr. Liu received his Doctor of Optometry degree from University of California, Berkeley. Prior to his optometry career, Dr. Liu majored in Physics with his special interest in optics. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Xavier University at Cincinnati, Ohio and a Master's degree in Physics from Ohio State University, Columbus. His pre-optometry working experience includes computer programming for a lighting company in Cincinnati and scientific research in molecular spectroscopy at Ohio State University. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and California Optometric Association.

Rocio, Office Manager/ Frame Stylist

Rocio has been working with Dr. Liu for over 3 years. She is courteous and professional. When you call to make an appointment, she is likely the one you speak with, and she will find out about your insurance coverage for you. Rocio knows what looks good and she will personally assist you in choosing your frames.

Kristin, Receptionist/Secretary

Kristin started working in this office over 4 years ago when Dr. Joy Sugimura, O.D. was the owner of this practice. Kristin is friendly and polite. When you come to this office, she might be the first person who will greet you with a smile.
